The Sound

Warm, round, and built to breathe.

The HR* Tenor uses the same hard rubber construction and round, medium chamber as the HR* Alto, adapted for the tenor saxophone's bigger body and lower register. The minimal rollover baffle keeps the sound warm and free-blowing rather than bright or resistant. The result is a tenor tone that speaks with depth and body in the low register and opens up naturally as you push into the top of the range without fighting back.

Who It's For

The HR* Tenor is for players who want a classic warm jazz sound that breathes with you rather than fighting you. Intermediate to professional level, at home in small combos, big bands, and studio sessions where depth and blend matter more than edge. The six tip openings from 5* through 8* give players room to find the resistance that fits their embouchure and reed setup.

Also works well in concert band and wind ensemble settings where the tenor needs to sit inside the section rather than cut through it. Players moving from a brighter piece who want to pull back the sound without losing projection will find the HR* a natural landing spot.
