Everything you need to play

After careful review of many saxophones, I chose the professional series from Jean Paul for my son who is playing in his college marching band, jazz band, and concert band. After years of using both his high school and college instruments in seeing how serious he is taking this I thought at time he had his own. Before purchasing, I had a question and called this company and to my surprise the owner answered the phone, answered my questions, and when he didn’t know the answer to a question he turned it over to somebody who made the instruments all while they were out out of the office from his cell phone. Talk about customer service can’t get any better than that. My son is happy with the sound and quality of his instrument and it shows and what he is playing now. Thank you.

I, like so many people, I’ve read in the reviews; stopped playing saxophone for many years. For over 20 years I have Not had a functional Saxophone!
And back in the day, the only saxes I had, that played were cheap Sopranos with an Otto Link metal Mouthpiece, so I could Scream Solos!!

So when I inherited some money recently, I got a Yamaha YSS 87 custom Z soprano and Theo Wanne, metal Mantra Mouthpiece! But I still can’t get the overtones over the Second octave!
I started remembering that every sax player (here in New Orleans!) told me that soprano was the hardest one to play, but I didn’t believe them, because it was the ONLY one (at the time) I felt comfortable playing!!

So then I bought a Tenor YTS 62 and a Theo Wanne Metal Mantra and i’am Literally “Blown Away”!! I was able to get all the overtones and altissimo I wanted, from the 2nd time playing it!!!
So after playing the YTS 62 for a few weeks, I remembered the custom z Soprano and tried to play it with the tenor. I also have a Theo Wanne Durga #9 Metal, for the soprano, Very Open,.. But still, I can’t play it like I used to. I can’t seem to get any Altisimo Overtones on it anymore?? Or Yet??

So, I purchased the Jean Paul pro Alto Sax, AS - 860, B Stock; in pursuit of more Focused, Altisimo, Overtones!

This Jean Paul Saxophone is very Good so far,.. On only my 2nd time playing it, I was able to get very clear and consistent Altisimo Overtones, very easily!!!

I played it with my Yamaha tenor, YTS 62 and both sound and play very Similar! But the Jean Paul is less than 1/2 the price!! Amazing!!!

Im playing the JP-AS-860 with a Theo Wanne, Metal Mindy Abair 2, #6.
It plays from Low to High quite easily! Im able to “Pop” into the 3rd octave from wherever I want!! And most importantly, it Screams like my Yamaha!

Yamahas are great studio saxes! But way too expensive for me, to want to take outside!
With the Jean Paul I feel like I’ll be ready for Mardi Gras next year!!
Now, Im seriously considering purchasing the JP-TS-600 or 660 to play on the street, a gig or to travel with!! And maybe your curved soprano too!!! Thanks Again Jean Paul!!!

I bought the CS660 Curved Soprano Saxophone last December 2025. The horn was delivered earlier than expected. I tried the horn twice and there’s a problem in the octave and middle octave key. I contacted the customer care service and they responded quickly. I send them a video of the problem and told me to bring it to a local service center. I emailed them back and said that I don’t want to bring it to the local store because they might break it rather than fix it. So Tim is so helpful and told me that he will send me another horn. Tim have the new horn set up properly and send me a play test video of the horn before mailing it to me. They really care for their customer. Special thanks to Tim. The horn plays really well and easy to blow from the lowest key all the way to highest F#. I absolutely recommend this horn and Jean Paul Warehouse Store. Thank you to Mario as well.

I accidentally misplaced the neck of my Curved Soprano after a gig. I noticed on the Jean Paul site that they carry a spare parts inventory. I contacted customer support and after very helpful communications they were able to replace the neck for me. The neck was promptly dispatched, safely packed for its journey across the Atlantic to Edinburgh, Scotland. Great customer service and I can continue to get enjoyment out of my Jean Paul Soprano Sax.

Tim delivered absolutely phenomenal customer service from start to finish. He was patient, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience feel personal and effortless. That level of care really set the tone for how much I enjoy this instrument. The on‑time delivery was the final touch that made the whole experience even better.
The saxophone itself is outstanding. The keys are soft, gentle, and incredibly responsive—playing higher notes takes almost no pressure, and the low notes speak just as easily. The tone is naturally bright, yet it adapts beautifully depending on the mouthpiece I use. The Florida State 10th Anniversary etching is a gorgeous detail, and the instrument is surprisingly lightweight, making longer sessions an absolute joy. I’m genuinely delighted to be the proud owner of this curved angel.
A few areas could be improved. The case is still the old‑fashioned rectangular style, and a more modern, ergonomic design would make a big difference. Including a laminated fingering chart would be a thoughtful addition for quick reference. The neck strap was the biggest disappointment—it felt like the poorest‑quality item in the entire package, especially compared to how premium the saxophone itself feels.
Even with those small areas for improvement, I absolutely love this new model and strongly recommend owning one—or at least giving it serious consideration before paying more for other brands. I enjoy every minute I spend playing it, and it has quickly become my favorite instrument to pick up regularly through the week.

The quality of product amazing!

I’m a 48 year old guy who’s trying to get back to trumpet more than 30 years after I played in the school band. Some time ago I bought a used pocket trumpet and started blowing it. At some point, I felt like I needed a better trumpet to keep me engaged with my practice. I read many reviews saying Jean Paul is a great instrument and decided to go for it. It’s been a little time that I’ve been playing with it, but I can say 100% sure I’m very happy with the product quality and sound. Their customer service is really amazing. Thanks JP!!

Purchased it for my daughter for Christmas. I don't understand much in trombones but she loves it. Waiting for next school concert.
