Look Sharp
Thanks to our beautiful hand-engraved instruments. If you can’t stop looking at it, you probably can’t stop playing it either - it’s a vicious cycle, in the best way possible.
Professional Setup
Every saxophone gets setup and play-tested by one of our NAPBIRT-certified technicians, who are also professional saxophonists. This ensures optimal performance right out of the box.
I don’t usually write reviews but after 40 years of tenor sax playing I thought I’d get me a soprano. The horn is great. Arrived this morning, played it at an event 2 hours ago. Right out of the box no problems. This is the student model ss400g I guess. What does the g stand for? I got it GREAT!
Very nice soprano sax, easy to play and pleasant sounding. Good value !
New to soprano, and it’s definitely more challenging than my Mk Vl Tenor, but she’s a very well made, great sounding little horn. Thanks for a great, reasonably priced product and excellent customer service!
Student Curved Soprano Saxophone
I started as a beginner on Tenor Sax in 7th grade. In high school, I was asked to play Soprano Sax in a saxophone quartet. I’ve loved the instrument since then and always wanted to buy one. You’ve made that possible. My sax arrived in a timely manner and in pristine condition. It feels solid and well made. Beautiful tone. I replaced the mouthpiece under recommendation (Selmer C*). The only downer was a sticky low C# pad. I guess the brutal South Central Texas heat had something to do with it. It has since cleared up. Love my Soprano Sax!

This horn rips! I am very impressed by the quality of this horn and let me tell you this out-plays my other instruments by a long shot. The horn has very good intonation and is very crisp. I can't wait to gig around the music scene with this tiny beast. I am so used to over exerting myself to get a good sound out of many instruments, this soprano makes it so easy for me to play. I couldn't believe it! Plus, it is the perfect size to play at my desk! I was personally recommended this horn by one of my friends and I would personally recommend this to anyone looking for a professional soprano horn. No idea why the title says "student" should be a professional horn and what a steal for that price!
So, I've brought a Jean Paul alto before and really liked it. So I decided to buy a soprano, gotta say I'm impressed. It plays well and I've seen no issues. Only slight problem is one there's no high G key, not the biggest problem just unfortunate cuz I like playing high notes. And the cap that protects the neck doesn't also protect the octave key like it does on the alto. But these are not really important just little nit-picks really still a 5-star, great buy!
This is a fantastic sax, especially for its price! Just taking it out of the case the first time I could feel it was more substantial in its construction than my old student level soprano (which did not cost that much less than this one). I was pleasantly suprised with much fuller tone quality as well, and that is with my lip that had not played a soprano in over a year! The key action is very good. My only negative is a mere trifle, and it was quickly resolved. The neck strap is so long that I could not adjust it high enough to comfortably hold the mouthpiece at my lips without actually lifting and then supporting it with my fingers and right. My lovely wife fixed it in about 10 minutes by overlapping the very back of the strap and tacking/sewing it secure.

Who takes care of people first.
That is the most important thing.
People first then..
He did a great job for my silver curved soprano sax.
He gave my instrument a NEW LIFE polishing it entirely which I did not even ask him for!
I can not thank him enough!!
I start loving Jean Paul USA.
And I love to play my sax again.
Thank you Carlos and God bless you and your family.
And oh God bless Jean Paul USA too.
Right out of the box, I had no problem playing. Finding the keys felt natural. Very happy with this sax.
Nice instrument. Unfortunately, the E key sticks. It is brand new. I tried cleaning the pads, but it still sticks. I have only played it a couple of time so I have have not really had a chance to get it dirty. ☹️
Soprano sax was great! The price is super manageable as all other beginner big brand soprano saxes are at least a grand to start. My only issue was how flat it was to start, but i sanded down the cork so i could push the mouthpiece in farther and it put it in tune. otherwise, im really enjoying it!
Will be in contact soon any special on alto sax????
I’ve been playing sax for 15 years. I bought a JP curved soprano offline slightly used and was a bit leery at first. After some research I took the leap. It arrived and I was definitely impressed! The horn plays great with a rich sound all around. Keys are solid and pleasantly responsive. Weight is impressive. I’d say Jean Paul has found the balance between quality and price.

Very good instrument. Leather pads seal with no issue, and tone is very pleasing.
Soprano saxophone not only looks fantastic its tone is just amazing. I’m glad we chose this one instead of spending much more on a different brand.
I have had the horn for 5 days, not the 14 as you indicated. The horn was not playable when it arrived. The octave key would not work at all and the spring was off center. The octave key was probably a 1/4 of an inch from reaching the top portion of the mechanism much less from making it work as it should. I have played the sax for over 65 years. I adjusted the octave key to make it work. My hands would not fit the keys So I will be returning the horn to you shortly..
From initial online purchase to two week, post-purchase company followup, Jean Paul has provided a good product at an affordable price and have backed it up with great service - a rarity for many online purchases. The budget curved soprano lives up to it's advertised reputation. And it might be the easiest online warranty process I've ever encountered. Thanks!
I have three teenager saxophone players (marching, symphonic, and jazz band) this soprano sax was their favorite Christmas present this past year - which says a lot. Eight months later they still play it multiple times per week, they really enjoy this saxophone and say it plays well.

After a month playing the sax, the neck’s spring started to lose tension.
Great saxophone really worth the price
I think it is a great addition to my instrument collection apart from a few minor inconveniences with how the saxophone arrived ( octave loop was misaligned and octave key cork was missing) I think its an incredible saxophone for the price and im really looking forward to playing it more. I also want to add how much I love your company for the amazing good quality instruments you sell for an excellent affordable price.
I bought this for my eight year old daughter, and it is the perfect size for her ! When I tested it, the sound is very clean and clear, and easy to play. I tried a size 2, 2.5, and 3 reeds, and I thought thinner reeds sounded better overall. I highly recommend this curved soprano saxophone for children with smaller hands, as the reach isn't as far as the alto sax. Thanks again!
Very good instrument and plays in tune. And it looks incredible.
I just want to reiterate my sustained pleasure with my SS Saxophone (#24). I purchased this in 2020 and wrote my initial review about a year later (see my review 10/02/21). I am still over-the-top pleased with my horn. I have such positive recollection of my conversations with the sales manager. Very professional. Great product.
The soprano sax is great! Everything was easy and fast from ordering to receiving the sax. I especially appreciated the link to the video of someone playing (testing) my sax over its range exhibiting excellent sound.
I'm having two problems......first the middle D comes in distorted. As you finger down the F and E come in fine, but the poor D. Now second.... trying to play the side keys above C in high register just doesn't want to come out. It might be just this one horn. I have heard many good things about your horns, thus my purchase of a cure soprano. I wanted to purchase your professional straight soprano, but weren't available at this time.
I keep trying different mouth pieces and reeds but not happy. I have played sopranos for ten years now, from horns that are almost a hundred years old to late models, and yes the upper register can be challenging but.... I'm having a much harder time to even achieve a decent tone as if any. My POINT is, it should not be that difficult!!
