I purchased a silver TB 400 trombone, which I received 7 days ago. It was very well protected with the packaging and the initial impression was that everything looked fine. However, I realized that it has a defect in one of its sections where the silver plating is flaking off (or coming off) and shows sulfur corrosion (or sulfide corrosion) of the material."
I purchased this instrument for my 13 year old grandson. I have a degree in woodwind performance and worked in an instrument store many years ago and am familiar with Selmer, Conn and King brass instruments. I believe this trombone is very well built. My grandson is able to play and perform with this horn and likes it better than the school loaner he has had for 3 years.
This is a beautiful instrument with solid construction. It will certainly take a “beginner student” through to the intermediate level with no problems.Sounds coming from its bell are just gorgeous
