The trumpet is nice, everything I hoped it would be. Only negative I have is the piece that wraps around the two carrying straps and closes with Velcro is already disintegrating on both the inside and outside. Took it to church to play last week and when I set the case down, I had a bunch of little pieces in my hand and on the floor that separated and came off the main part of that wrap around piece. Other than that, I’m pleased with the purchase.

The TR-430 is a nice Trumpet!

My son bought the TR-330 back on in December here on Jean Paul's website (you can find the review we left for the TR-330 on this website for it) and was very happy with it. I decided to buy the TR-430 and it's a nice trumpet! The tonal colors are very rich/clean, and the ergonomics on the trumpet are nice. The tuning slides are very smooth and I highly recommend this trumpet. I recommend anyone who buys this trumpet get some high-quality valve oil to use when oiling the valves, like the Blue Juice line of Valve Oil. We use it on the TR-330 and we only have to Oil the valves about once every 3 weeks. The staff of Jean Paul were very friendly, courteous and very helpful :)

I'm an adult in my late 30's and have never played an instrument. I initially rented a student Bach trumpet to see if learning trumpet was right for me. Once I realized that I would stick with it, I figured buying a trumpet is better than renting, but, I still didn't want to spend the big bucks on a horn. After much research, I decided on the Jean Paul TR-430. The trumpet arrived quickly and in perfect condition. It is a very beautiful instrument and I really like mixture of the different finishes. The valves run smoothly and it sounds great. My private instructor tried it out and said it is very nice too. I returned the Bach rental and now do all my lessons and practice on my Jean Paul. My only complaint on the Jean Paul TR-430 is that the main tuning slide is a bit jerky, but, that doesn't get used much after warmup. The first and third slides run just fine.

I love it! It's exactly what I was especting. I love the warm rich tone it produces. It plays well and the silver plated finish has always been my style!

I just started to learn to play the trumpet in April 2020, during the Covid-19 Pandemic. With hours being cut back at work, I figured I'd learn to play the trumpet that I've always wanted to learn but did not have the time. So I bought my first trumpet (an ETude100) on Ebay for $35. Learning the basics. Then I bought a Yamaha 2335 at a local pawn shop for $125. Still learning more exercises and scales. Finally bought a JeanPaul TR-300 on Ebay, for $75. All valves and slides were very stuck. I soaked trumpet in warm water and dish soap for about half hour. With some effort, I took all moving part apart and cleaned thoroughly. Greased all slides and oiled all valves (after pulling out with some force). After putting all pieces back together, I played my first note and scale. My first reaction was of shock. The trumpet played so much easier with little effort. I have found the trumpet I will play for a long time. Yes, it plays much better that the Yamaha 2335. I had three trumpets now and only want to practice with the JeanPaul. So I sold the Etude100 and the Yamaha 2335. With the money made on the sale of two trumpets, I decide to buy the TR-430. The valves and pistons move very smoothly and the sound is amazing. I am even able to play higher notes with little effort. Great feel, not heavy, great quality. Again, I am very happy with this trumpet. Plays great and gives me more confidence to continue playing and learning more. Now I have two Jean Paul Trumpets. Since, I can not afford $$$$ a professional trumpet, these JeanPaul trumpets are just as good. JeanPaul should do a video with some professional trumpet players playing their own and playing a JeanPaul. I would love to see their reactions. In my opinion, JeanPaul trumpets are great!!! And not expensive.

Thanks to the folks at Jean-Paul for making this great instrument. I am very impressed with this horn. Practicing every day and having a great time. I'm 67 and this is my first brass instrument. "Never too late" I don't think I could have found a better trumpet for the money. Had my friend, a retired band director, look at it and he was quite impressed. Look forward to many years of enjoyment. Play on Play on Play on

Jean Paul is now part of our life. The CL400 Clarinet is the latest instrument to join our family, and my grandson and I both enjoy playing our individual Jean Paul TR-430 trumpets. The trumpet in my picture is a King Silver Flair, an orginal from the early 60's, and I will compare it to the TR-430 for tone and playing ability. We love Jean Paul instruments.

Very happy with the intonation playability. It's been over 30 years since I played trumpet, but it's like riding a bike. LOL

This horn was purchased for my grandson to replace his Selmer Prelude, and although less expensive than the Prelude, the Jean Paul far out classes it in brightness of tone. The Jean Paul has better valve movement and valve construction and the overall feel of the horn is excellent. He's only just begun his third year of playing and the new Jean Paul is a real asset in keeping him motivated. In appearance, the Jean Paul is nearly identical to the Prelude, which he likes. But here is the real kicker: I permit him to use my 1964 Silver Flair for stage band, a nearly $1600 concert horn, and he's told me that he will probably use the Jean Paul this year because the tone of it is so much better than his Prelude. So I played it myself and found this to be very true of the Jean Paul. As a matter of fact, I am thinking about purchasing another for myself. It is as bright and fast as any good intermediate horn, or better. Definitely recommended.

Back in April we became part of the Jean Paul family and we want to let you know that the TR-430 trumpet holds up really well in the summer marching season. Here is video and snap shot of our daughter playing trumpet in the front row.
Thanks again for your great customer support during the buying process. It made all the difference in the world.

Son's Birthday Gift

After having it for a week I was finally able to gift it to my son for his birthday and he was so happy. He's had a student one for 3 years and it was time to have to take the next step. This week he has a recital and can't wait to hear him play. Already during his practice I can tell the difference. Thank you to everyone at Jean Paul!
