About this Instrument
This TR-430 didn’t make it through our final cosmetic inspection—but make no mistake, it plays and sounds just like the rest.
Certified B-Stock means this horn is brand new and ready to play out of the box. The only difference? A cosmetic flaw—think acid bleed, finish scratches, blemishes, or lacquer imperfections.
It still gets our full 1-year warranty and the same great feel that’s made the TR-430 a top pick for first-time players everywhere.
Certification Process
Every Jean Paul instrument goes through a strict multi-point quality control process—including a full setup and detailed play-test by our in-house technicians. If we find a cosmetic flaw during inspection—like a finish blemish, scratch, or discoloration—the instrument is pulled from regular stock and designated as B-Stock.
Whenever possible, the cosmetic issue is corrected or minimized, but these instruments are still sold as B-Stock to keep our quality promise clear. What you get is a fully functional, great-playing instrument at a better price—backed by our 1-year warranty.
What To Expect
Below you'll find examples of exactly what you can expect on your Certified B-Stock instrument.
Acid Bleed
Acid Bleed is a cosmetic mark that can appear around the bell, often near soldered seams or the rim. It’s caused by trapped flux or moisture under the lacquer and doesn’t affect the trumpet’s sound or performance.

Finish Scratches
Light scratches on the lacquer or plating can happen during manufacturing, handling, or setup. They’re surface-level only—purely cosmetic—and have no effect on how the instrument feels, plays, or sounds.
