Let customers speak for us
from 1270 reviewsThis sax is every bit as good as advertised - even better. All the notes are easy to make. Plays in tune. Just tried different mouthpieces and reeds to find what i liked and I was off to the races !!! I highly recommend it. 🎷🙂
Well let me start by saying this is a beautiful instrument and feels like it will last . We did have an issue with the first instrument they sent us . It was out of tune or had leaky pads not sure but we contacted them and Tim the customer service representative emailed me back the same day . And I explained what it was doing and sounded and he said no problem and sent me a return label for instrument so I could send it back . And they sent US new instrument and it sounds great and looks good . Hopefully for years to come .
This next drop is stellar compared to the next strap that came with my saxophone. This new next strap stays, is sturdy, and I feel confident wearing it. Whereas the one next strip that came with the saxophone, does not feel sturdy does not stay, and therefore, I am not confident wearing it. Cheers!
As a beginner, I thought about buyi
I enjoyed the response and excellent intonation of this sax. The key work was a little tight on the right hand but changing the angle I positioned my hand helped. Also wished the backpack strap was removable but overall Jean Paul has a wonderful…affordable product! I would definitely recommend them and plan to keep them on the radar for future purchases.
The delivery was on time and the instrument is very soundly made
Oh men is a wow sound
Very nice horn. I was looking for a pro model horn at a good price and I found it because of other people reviews. Thanks to Jean Paul saxophones people don't need to pay extreme high prices to get a great looking and sounding horn. There were a few things that needed some adjustment to the set up but that should be consistent with the low price. For my set up I reduced the tention in the springs for the left hand upper stack. The next thing I did was add felt to all the right hand lower stack keys like f,e, and d. The action is closer and much better in tune on the upper register . This set up improves feel and speed for me and really feels like my 875 yamaha and cannonball saxophones.
It's a nice horn, it sounds great. A good quality for a low price, what else? Excellent technical support.

(My background may lend a little to this review. I am sincerely not interested in promoting myself in the least bit. But I have owned and performed professionally on most Selmer models between1930's Super and Mark VII in late 70's. Including an early Selmer Balanced Action and a near perfect Mark VI both in Mint condition. And some new ones. I performed with many well known entertainers, toured and recorded while a part of the Buddy Rich band in the late 1970's as a young player. I studied with Phil Woods as a teenager.) I find the Jean Paul "student" model alto to be everything it is advertised to be. Solid build, great attention to detail, full & warm tone with very good projection. What about the intonation? For those who complain as I have read, let me suggest that you push your mouthpiece much farther onto the neck. Rather than a tuner, use a piano. Try a digital piano, check the low notes some complain about. We play with other instruments and not a tuner, do we not? This sax has excellent intonation. The design is superb. The designers of this sax knew exactly what they were doing. That's why overtones are so rich and high register so perfect. Altissimo register easy. Low notes are the way they are for a good reason. Keep jaw pressure consistent as you proceed down to the lower register. I imagine the Jean Paul pro model would be incredible! These saxophones are just wonderful!

I was very happy how quick Jean Paul replied and sent me the Ligature. Thank you!!
Been playing it for 1 hour a day for a month now, and have encountered 0 problems. Further, I have been able to get clear sounds in both the upper and lower registers. Love it.
