I recently purchased a Jean Paul intermediate clarinet for my 9-year-old son, and it’s been a fantastic experience. I am a beginning clarinet player who also happens to be 60+ years old. I played saxophone in school over 50 years ago and have always regretted not continuing my musical education. I decided to learn how to play the clarinet, and wanted an instrument that was well made and that I would be able to grow into, and wouldn't "break the bank." The Jean Paul CL-400 intermediate clarinet had very good reviews, and a very reasonable price. The clarinet is well made and has an excellent fit and finish. It seems very forgiving of my beginner's technique (or lack of it), and plays well, with good tone.
Overall, I think this will be an outstanding clarinet for me to learn with, and look forward to several years of happy playing before I need to upgrade to a wooden clarinet.

My mother bought me a clarinet jean paul cl400, and I am very happy, since some time ago I practiced this instrument, but then suspended x different reasons, now I have returned to take classes. This clarinet cl400 for my level is excellent, it has a very good sound, it is very fine and elegant, it is perfect for me.

A great buy for the price.

I ordered a clarinet it can like a returned or open box item condition. I requested a replacement and the replacement was not better. Basically, the instrument has minor scratches finger marks as something that already returned by someone else. If you want a brand new looking instrument, Jean paul is not the way to go.

The clarinet plays well, but it was necessary to sand down the cork tenons as they were excessively tight and made it difficult to disassemble the clarinet. The sound of the low c# is a bit stuffy but has improved with playing. I'm not sure why. Overall good value for the price. I also have an alto sax from your company that plays bright with no problems.

Purchased the CL-400 intermediate clarinet directly from the Jean Paul website for our 8th grader, considering the upgraded mouth piece and finish on the keys, and are very happy with the purchase. Correspondence with Jean Paul was excellent. Shipping was fast. Everything included with this package appears to be of good quality. Our daughter was able to assemble and play it right away. The clarinet has a rich, pleasant tone. Would recommend to others who are considering this purchase. Thank you Jean Paul team.

Very Good intonation

I used to play on a yamaha ycl-650 for school but sadly as the school year ended i had to return it so as I had previously bought a Jean Paul curved soprano saxophone and have had no complaints so far I decided to buy you're intermediate clarinet and frankly it plays at the same level as my old one or even better, paired with a good mouthpiece it is a wonderful clarinet.

I am pleased. It works so much better than my old clarinet.

I’m a flute player of 22 years. I decided to pick up clarinet for fun. This a good instrument. It’s pretty, sounds great, seems sturdy and well made. I’m very happy with it.

Intermediate Clarinet

I love it! If you’re struggling financially or just can’t afford a Yamaha, Bundy, Jupiter, etc. then you should DEFINITELY look into buying a Jean Paul! It shipped the same week that I bought it, and the customer service is also really active so if you have any questions they’ll be answered quickly!

I got this clarinet for my birthday in May and I love it! It has a good tone quality and looks amazing. There are come minor Knicks and some notes are airy, but that's probably just with my specific one and can be fixed easily. Overall, it's a solid clarinet that won't break the bank

Intermediate Clarinet

We ordered the jean paul intermediate clarinet off of amazon. we recieved it before christmas and opened it and began to play it. i give it a 5 out 5 stars for awesome quality and awesome tone. i deffinetly recommond this clarinet. this instrument is totally worth the price.

Intermediate Clarinet

One of the little springs on my CL400 clarinet slips from its sport. Since I am sight impaired, I did not see it. When I wrote to support about problem, they were so very helpful. Once they recognized the problem, they asked me to have it repaired and they would reimburse me as it was a minor matter. I went to a local professional jazz saxophone player who was rumoured to repair saxophones (I live far from anything resembling a music shop). He fixed it in less than a minute, and then spent 15 looking over my clarinet, running his fingers as if playing (he did not attached the mouth piece). He kept commenting how smooth the fingering was. His instruments cost thousands of dollars, mine did not. It was fixed in no time, no charge, and now I have had a professional musician praise my choice in instrument.
